The Old Road Improvements Project

Project to widen the Old Road between Henry Mayo Drive and Magic Mountain Parkway.  The Board of Supervisors approved the project, along with the Environmental Impact Report, on December 17, 2024.  Construction will be performed in two phases:

• Phase 1 is expected to start in Spring of 2025, with utility relocation starting in early 2025.  We expect construction to take between 1 ½ to 2 years.  The scope of work includes road widening from 4 to 6 lanes, construction of landscaped medians and parkways and installation of a bike lane.
• Phase 2 is tentatively scheduled to start early 2027, with a construction duration of about 3 years.  Phase 2 also includes widening from 4 to 6 lanes and includes replacement of two bridges, one over the Santa Clara River and the other over the Southern Pacific Railroad right of way.
